Community Service

As a business we constantly strive to develop relationships both internally and externally and with the wider community.

Our commitment to develop our staff is clear with the introduction of 'Team Talk' Seminars, CPD's and by encouraging all staff to widen their knowledge through further education, reading and travel. The business currently has four staff in part-time higher education and where ever possible this is also funded by Coda Studios in full.

In addition to our commitment to existing staff the practice offers work experience placements to school children throughout the year with no less than 6 students receiving placements in 2008. The directors also offer continuous support to the local education institutions with student visits being encouraged to allow a greater insight into the workings of Architectural Practice.

This year the practice also welcomed eight students through Sheffield Universities 'Summer School' program to visit the office for a half day in an effort to promote higher education to people who may not normally get the chance. These children are typically from disadvantaged backgrounds and are high achievers. In addition staff have spent time in classes at a local primary school to make the children aware of what architects do, showing them drawings and illustrations from previous jobs.

All these initiatives are a clear indication of Coda's commitment to "invest in the future" across a wide age range, from primary school children up to university students. Local and national charities are supported and sponsored. These include:

A Helens Trust
B FSID
C Local Schools programs- Drugs awareness and Road Safety Campaigns
D Disasters and Emergency Committee
